Security Training

Practical Training for Today’s Security Professionals

The role of the security professional continues to evolve. Today’s security officers, supervisors and managers are expected to do far more than protect people, property and assets. They are often the first to recognise suspicious behaviour, manage conflict, support vulnerable individuals, respond to incidents and provide reassurance to customers, employees and members of the public.

Safer Business Network provides practical security training designed around the real situations security professionals face.

From frontline security officers and control room teams to supervisors and senior managers, our training develops the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to prevent incidents, respond effectively and create safer environments.

Training can be delivered in-house, virtually or through flexible eLearning, with bespoke programmes available for individual organisations and contracts.

Conflict Management & De-escalation

Give security teams practical skills to recognise escalating behaviour, assess risk, communicate confidently and use appropriate de-escalation techniques. Training can be tailored to the environments your officers work within and aligned with organisational procedures.

Robbery & Theft Awareness

Develop officers’ understanding of robbery, theft and associated criminal behaviour, from recognising suspicious activity and preventing opportunities for crime through to responding to incidents, preserving evidence and providing accurate information to the police.

Crime Scene Awareness

Help security professionals understand their important role following an incident, including protecting a scene, preserving potential evidence, managing people and understanding what information may assist a subsequent investigation.

Sexual Harassment Awareness

Help officers recognise sexual harassment and inappropriate behaviour and understand how to respond, report concerns and support individuals appropriately. This is particularly important for security professionals working in public-facing, workplace, hospitality, retail and night-time economy environments.

Safe Havens

Security officers can play an important role within Safe Havens, including acting as mobile Safe Haven Ambassadors. Training provides officers with the skills to recognise vulnerability, provide temporary reassurance and assistance, understand safeguarding boundaries and support someone towards an appropriate onward journey or specialist service.

Customer Service

Professional security and excellent customer service should work hand in hand. Develop communication, engagement and interpersonal skills that help officers provide reassurance, positively represent your organisation and improve the experience of customers, visitors and employees.

Leadership & Management – Levels 1–5

Invest in your current and future security leaders. Our progressive leadership and management training supports employees at different stages of their careers, from aspiring supervisors and team leaders through to experienced security managers.

From Frontline Officers to Future Leaders

We can also combine subjects into a tailored programme covering conflict management, vulnerability, safeguarding, behaviour detection, customer service, robbery and theft, crime scene awareness, VAWG, reporting and leadership. Whether you employ a small specialist security team or operate contracts across the UK, we can develop training around your workforce.

Security training shouldn’t simply be about maintaining compliance. It should give people the confidence to make the right decision at the right time.

Our approach combines practical learning, scenario-based exercises and industry experience to help security professionals understand not only what they should do, but why it matters.

By investing in your people, you can strengthen service delivery, support employee development, improve client outcomes and ultimately help create safer workplaces and communities.

In-House, eLearning & Bespoke Delivery

Our flexible approach allows security organisations to choose training that works around operational requirements.

Choose from trainer-led in-house sessions, virtual delivery, scalable eLearning or a blended programme combining different learning methods.

For larger organisations, we can work with you to develop a structured learning pathway covering different roles and levels of responsibility.
